How to find the True Video Magnification.
Last Updated 6 months ago
The best way to find the True Video Magnification is to use a Mag-Checker and Ruler or Caliper. Here are the steps you need to follow:
1. Place the mag checker on the measuring stage and focus on a circle that fits inside the field of view.
2. Set the video zoom to 1:1
3. Measure the circle on the video screen with a ruler or caliper.
4. Divide the measured diameter on the screen by the size of the diameter of the Mag-Checker circle.
Note that both screen size and camera size affect the true magnification.
Here are the approximate true magnifications on a 25" monitor for the current model Swift Pro units:
1x lens | = | 40x True Magnification |
2x lens | = | 80x True Magnification |
5x lens | = | 200x True Magnification |
10x lens | = | 400x True Magnification |
