1) Adjust the machine lighting. The top light must be off, and the bottom light should be gray/green.

2) Lower all the three adjustable pads by turning the leveling screws clockwise. Confirm the glass plate is secured by pressing gently on the glass with your fingers on the Fixed Top Right, Top Left, and Bottom Right Pads.

3) Place the magnification checker close to the top right-hand pad (fixed pad) and bring the machine into focus on one of its artifacts.

4) Place the magnification checker in the bottom right corner of the glass, close to the bottom right leveling pad, and move the stage so the magnification checker is underneath the objective lens. (Note: it is important not to adjust the machine's Z-axis to focus while leveling)

5) Adjust the leveling pad screw at this location by turning it anticlockwise until the mag checker is sharply in focus. Verify the stage glass is secure on all leveling pads by pressing gently on the glass, rechecking the focus at the bottom right, and adjusting the leveling screw if necessary. (Note: it is important not to adjust the machine's Z-axis while leveling the three pads.)

6) Now place the magnification checker near the top left and repeat the leveling process explained in steps 3, 4, & 5 until no more adjustments are needed to the Bottom Right Pad.

7) Place the magnification checker close to the top right-hand pad (fixed pad) and bring the machine into focus on one of its artifacts.

8) Place the magnification checker in the Top Left corner of the glass, close to the Top Left leveling pad, and move the stage so the magnification checker is underneath the objective lens. (Note: it is important not to adjust the machine's Z-axis to focus while leveling)

9) Adjust the leveling pad screw at this location by turning it anticlockwise until the mag checker is sharply in focus. Verify the stage glass is secure on all leveling pads by pressing gently on the glass, rechecking the focus at the bottom right, and adjusting the leveling screw if necessary. (Note: it is important not to adjust the machine's Z-axis while leveling the three pads.)

10) Now place the magnification checker near the top left and repeat the leveling process explained in steps 7, 8, & 9 until no more adjustments are needed to the top Left Pad.

11) Place mag. Checker close to the bottom left corner of the glass, close to the bottom left leveling pad, and move the stage so the magnification checker is underneath the objective lens.

12) Turn the bottom left pad-leveling screw until the artifact on the magnification checker is sharply in focus.

13) Verify with the magnification checker in the top right corner and bring the machine into focus on one of its artifacts. Move the magnification checker to all three corners of the stage glass, and all corners should now be in focus without the machine adjusting the focus. If any of the glass stage corners are out of focus, you must redo this procedure from Step 2.
