Creating Custom Overlays

1. Overlay Image needs to have

a. Transparent background

b. Size of 1920 x 1080 pixels

c. Max 8MB

2. Save a CAD file at the exact magnification as a PNG image or capture an image of an actual sample on EVO Cam and use it to create an overlay. (make sure the image is saved at the correct magnification in PNG format)

3. Use any photo editing software to edit example: paint.net

a. Open the saved png image in paint.net

b. Create a new layer

c. Either copy and paste the required portion of the image on the new layer or create an outline of the required part on the new layer.

d. Use the magic wand tool and select the background on the new layer that needs to be transparent, once selected press delete.

e. Keep only the new edited transparent layer by unchecking the original image layer

f. Save the image in PNG format on a USB thumb drive in the main directory

4. Import Overlay and turn ON the overlay option in EVO CAM

a. Go to Menu > Measurement > Overlay > Import and ON

b. Click on “Import” and select the overlay image from the USB thumb drive

c. Once the overlay is imported the USB stick can be removed and the overlay will remain on the system
